MoneyFormula Major Releases
You can now easily get a clear picture of your month-by-month expenses that are coming up over the next 12 months, using all the latest information from your current budget.
The monthly spending report have been updated to track against your latest budget, allowing you to track your progress and dive down into comparisons between transactions and budget items to make sure your spending is going to plan.

The Next 12 Months report gives you a clear picture of your month-by-month expenses that are coming up over the next 12 months. It is based on your latest budget and takes into account all your regular monthly expenses along with those that only happen on given months.
The Monthly Spending report has the option to Track to Budget so you can drill down to reasons for overspending and correct your budget or spending habits to get things back on track.
Budget Items can now specify the month(s) they fall in making future planning and spending reviews more accurate to actual spending patterns. This information is also pulled into the Next 12 Months report showing you when all of your expenses will happen.
CSV Export now available on all account transaction screens as well as the Monthly Spending report making it easy to load information into other apps for further processing.

The new reports will let you instantly check how much your mortgage offset is really worth to you, and it is now easier for you to use the fortnightly (or weekly) savings hack to split your monthly payments and save thousands on your mortgage.
The Offset Benefit report lets you enter an average monthly balance, and optionally add a regular deposit amount, showing you how much you will save over the life of your mortgage. So if you put your income in your offset once a month you can now instantly see how much interest you will save.
The Fortnightly / Weekly Payments report shows you the benefit of splitting your monthly payment into fortnightly or weekly payments. This savings hack has been around for years, its simple and it works.
All mortgage planning reports have been updated to allow account keeping fees to be added into the calculations; any extra payments now allow you to pick a frequency (e.g. weekly or fortnightly extra payment) and the comparison tables now include total yearly payments as well as weekly and fortnightly repayments for all reports giving you more options to work with.

You can now easily track your mortgage through the new Beat My Mortgage module providing you with all your latest mortgage details through the Mortgage Tracker and Mortgage Reports screens.
The Mortgage Tracker provides a quick overview of your mortgage, including a combination of account and wealth goal details.
The Mortgage Reports provide you with easy navigation options to the planning and error checking reports for the selected mortgage.
The new mortgage menu options now bring all the existing mortgage functionality under the Beat My Mortgage module so it is easier to navigate to and work with your mortgage.

You can now review your income, cash flow and spending amounts month-my-month giving you all the details to know exactly where your income is going.
The Category Maintenance option has also been enhanced so you can now add your own income and expense categories and customise the categories to suit your needs.

The Income & Cash Flow report provides a monthly comparison between your income and all of your expenses, giving you your overall cash flow per month. The cash flow amount shown each month gives you a good idea of how much you can afford to put towards your other money flows and buckets.
The Monthly Spending report provides you with a month by month breakdown of your overall spending by your major categories. You can dive into the details of any of the spending categories all the way down to a list of the transactions for the month.
The Spending Summary & Detailed reports now show a comparison between spent and budgeted amounts so that you can see easily see the amount remaining for any categories.

Bank Accounts can now have savings targets tracked against their balances making it easier to save for that next holiday, new car or reward that is just over the horizon.
Simple set your target, monthly savings amount and optional interest rate and instantly see when you will achieve your goal. As you update the account balance the savings progress is updated automatically so you always have the latest details at your finger tips.

The Reward Savings let you set targets on your different bank accounts making it easy to track your savings progress. For example, if you have a bank account for your "Holiday Fund" you can simple add a savings target, track your progress and see exactly when you will achieve it.
The Account Detail chart will show you your savings history to date as well as the future account balance as you work towards your target.
Use your Money Flows on your current budget to put aside the income required to cover your Rewards (Smile / Short-Term) Savings before it all goes on your expenses.
As you adjust your savings target and monthly payment amounts you will instantly see the end date and time required to reach your target. Play with the numbers until you find the perfect combination that works for you that is both realistic and achievable.

The latest version of the spending Category AutoMatcher is now available; allowing you to set your own category rules and exact match keywords.
In addition to the existing partial matches method, that works straight out of the box, you can now customise the AutoMatcher if you need to fine-tune the settings and/or handle exceptions. Refer to the Tools > Category AutoMatcher option when viewing an account's transactions.

The new category rules let you assign a spending category of your choice based on the words that a transaction description includes and words it does not include.
For example, if you shop at "Coles" for groceries but you also buy fuel at "Coles Express" you could set up two rules to handle this.
Rule 1: Set the category to "Daily - Groceries & Household" if the transaction includes the word "coles" but does not contain the word "express".
Rule 2: Set the category to "Transport - Fuel" if the transaction includes the words "coles" and "express".
For example, if you shop at "Coles" for groceries but you also buy fuel at "Coles Express" you could set up two rules to handle this.

The new exact match keywords allow you to handle generic "transfer" and "payment to" style transactions where the matching will only happen on the full description.

The spending category last changed information is now available on all spending transactions, showing your when the category was last updated and how it was last changed (for example, a manual change, a bulk edit or which of the AutoMatcher methods was used).

You can now tag accounts as Wealth Assets providing you with two important views of your Net Worth; your total Net Worth and your Wealth View. Also check out the improvements to the wealth goals and the enhanced account charting.
Wealth View option added to the Net Worth giving you two views over what you own. The first is the traditional Net Worth total that includes all assets/saving and debt; the second view only includes accounts tagged as Wealth Assets. This allows you to exclude personal use items such as your home, vehicles, home contents, etc and gives you a more accurate picture of your investments.
